In October, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) raised estimates for Brazil’s 2023 soybean crop.
The projection went from 149 million tons to 152 million tons. That is: 2% more than the previous forecast.
The new projection represents a growth of 20% over the previous crop. Grain is the flagship of Brazilian agriculture.
Furthermore, the current amount is also in line with the number estimated by the National Supply Company (Conab), from Brazil.
Thus, if confirmed, production will be 10% higher than the 2021 record: close to 140 million tons.
Currently, Brazil is the largest producer and exporter of soy on the planet, according to USDA figures.
