Two cars fell into river in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district, six people lost their lives

Jammu: Six people died after two cars fell into a river at Somwa in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district. Doda Senior Superintendent of Police Abdul Qayoom said that two people have also been injured in these two accidents that took place within six hours on the Doda-Bhaderwah road. He said that a car fell into the Niru river 400 meters below Galgandhar at around 6.30 am, killing four people in the car and causing serious injuries to another. The deceased have been identified as Satya Devi, Satisha Devi, Vikram Singh and Lakhraj, he said. All of them were residents of Shiva village and were going to Bhaderwah to attend a marriage ceremony.

Car fell into the river 300 meters below

Earlier, in another accident, another private car fell into the river 300 meters below in the Mughal Market area, just two kilometers from Galgandhar itself. The SSP said that the incident happened late at around 12.30 pm and bodies of Sajjad Ahmed of Tangorna-Bhaderwah and Ravindra Kumar of Himote-Bhaderwah have been recovered from the vehicle. He told that Piyush Kumar of Chinta has been rescued and his condition is critical.

A big accident happened in Kishtwar on 30 August

Earlier, on August 30, there was a major road accident in Kishtwar, Jammu and Kashmir. At least eight people were killed and three others were injured when an SUV skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge. According to officials, this SUV was going from Chingam to Chatru with passengers. Then at around 3.15 pm, this vehicle became a victim of an accident near Bonda village. Police, Rashtriya Rifles and rescue teams of local residents immediately swung into action after the SUV fell into a ditch from a mountainous road, he said.
