THE Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) stated that he has no further affiliation with the Bitci blockchain platform🇧🇷 The agreement between the parties, which had been signed last year, was rescinded by the entity for non-payment of sponsorship fees. The information was revealed by Máquina do Esporte last Tuesday (22)🇧🇷
On Wednesday (23), Bitci released an official note saying that “the contracts between the Brazilian team and Bitci are valid and in force” and that “there is no notice of termination for Bitci.” The CBF, however, disputes both information.
“The contract is no longer in force”, informed the confederation, through its press office, when asked about Bitci’s statement.
According to the entity, the information has already been communicated to the company and that there was “formal confirmation of receipt of the notification by them”.
Despite being in default with the sponsorship payment, Bitci continues to market the fan token of the Brazilian team on its official website🇧🇷 The case is handed over to the confederation’s legal department, which has yet to take any legal action against the Turkish company.
Even considering that it no longer has an official partner in the fan token and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) segment, CBF has not yet sought another sponsor in this area.
The signing of a sponsorship contract demands a few months of legal checks by the legal department of both parties, discussion about the properties that the new partner will be entitled to and what products will be launched with the image of the Brazilian team. Therefore, there would be no time to announce a new sponsor during the World Cup.
It is not just with the CBF that Bitci had problems paying the agreed amounts. Abroad, the company lost the agreements it had with Sporting (Portugal), Cadiz (Spain)Spezia (Italy) and the McLaren Formula 1 team🇧🇷
In Brazil, the company maintains a contract with Ceará🇧🇷 Strength🇧🇷 coritiba🇧🇷 Sport Recife and Victory🇧🇷 According to Sport Machine found, the first four clubs are also not receiving from the company🇧🇷 Ceará even, from Tuesday to Wednesday (23), removed the Bitci logo from the list of club sponsors on its official website.
After publication of the report by Sport Machine, last Wednesday (23), Fortaleza and Coritiba did the same. Only Sport and Vitória maintain the Bitci emblem as a commercial partner of the teams on their websites.
