Amazon favors NFL and only starting in January will it show NBA on Thursdays and Saturdays in Brazil – Basquete, NFL

O Prime Videostreaming service amazonstarted this Tuesday (22) the transmission of the 2022/2023 season of the league of basketball United States ProfessionalNBA) for Brazil.

In these first two months, however, Prime Video adopted a strategy to prioritize transmissions of the American football league in the United States (nfl), in the so-called “Thursday Night Fooball” (Thursday football night, in the literal translation).

Amazon’s streaming exclusivity contract with the NFL to show Thursday night matchups began in 2022. With that, NBA matches in November and December of this year will be restricted to Tuesday nights, with two games each, starting at 21:30 and at midnight.

Varied menu from January

Starting in January, the NBA menu for Brazilian Prime Video subscribers will be more varied. In addition to Tuesday’s games, broadcasts will also be available on Thursdays and Saturdays.

In all, the streaming service should show up to 87 matches for Brazilians during the regular season. The last scheduled game in this phase is portland trail blazers x Los Angeles Clipperson April 8, from 5 pm.

Prime Video will also show up to 24 playoff matchups for Brazil. Streaming will feature exclusive games every week, in addition to several original content produced by the NBA.
