Sonali Phogat Case: A Goa court on Friday sent three people arrested in the death case of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sonali Phogat to seven-day judicial custody. Sonali Phogat died a few hours after her arrival in Goa in late August. However, the death of the BJP leader is being treated as a case of murder. Sonali Phogat’s personal assistant Sudhir Sangwan, another associate Sukhwinder Singh, restaurant owner Edwin Nunes, alleged drug smuggler Dattaprasad Gaonkar and Ramdas Mandrekar have been arrested in this case.
Curly’s restaurant owner and drug peddler sent to judicial custody
Nunes, owner of Curlies restaurant, alleged drug smuggler Dattaprasad Gaonkar and Ramdas Mandrekar have been sent to seven-day judicial custody by a Panaji court, a police official said. The police officer said that his five-day police remand ended on Friday, following which he was produced in the court.
Two associates of Phogat charged with murder
Let us tell you that Sonali Phogat and her colleagues had a party at Curlies restaurant on the intervening night of 22 and 23 August. Sonali Phogat, 43, was brought dead at a hospital in North Goa district on August 23, a day after her arrival in Goa. Two of his aides Sangwan and Singh have been charged with murder by the Goa Police.
