Programs started with Lord Ganesha’s procession

This year’s festivities began with a Shobha Yatra of Lord Ganesha on Sunday. The people of Agra showered flowers on the tableau. For the smooth conduct of this week-long festival, Maha Aarti was performed with 1000 earthen lamps, which will continue till September 24. The traditional Ram Baraat will begin from the Mankameshwar temple in the city on Wednesday evening. It will reach Janakpuri in Dayalbagh the next morning (Thursday) via different areas of the city. The ‘Ram Baraat’ will halt there for three days before returning on September 24.

Ram procession is being organized after two years

Media in-charge of Ram Barat Organizing Committee, Kumar Lalit told that various programs will be organized in Janakpuri. A grand Janak Mahal has been built. Here all the events will take place during the Ram procession. The week-long festival started with Ganesh Shobha Yatra on Sunday. He said that as per tradition no auspicious program is organized in Pitru Paksha, but every year ‘Ram Baraat’ is organized in Agra. There is a symbolic marriage of Shri Ram and Sita. Please tell that the program was not organized for two years due to Corona.

People come in large numbers from surrounding districts

Let us tell you that for the last several years, a grand Ram procession has been organized in Agra. The organizing committees claim that this grand Ram procession is the biggest Ram procession not only in UP but in the whole of North India. A large number of people from the surrounding districts come to see it. Apart from the people of the organizing committee, preparations are also done on a large scale by the administration and the police. A whole fair is held here, which lasts for about seven days.
