Former PT councilor is murdered in São Paulo

Former councilor Reginaldo Camilo dos Santos (PT), better known as Zezinho, 51, was murdered this Friday, 28, in Jandira, São Paulo. According to the Metropolitan Civil Guard (GCM), the crime took place at 5:25 pm in the Jardim Gabriela neighborhood.

Some residents who witnessed the murder told GCM that a vehicle with an armed person approached Zezinho and shot him at close range. The guard still doesn’t know the motive for the murder.

The former PT councilor is the author of several accusations of corruption in the city, mainly in areas such as health and municipal procurement. In these elections, he ran for federal deputy, but was not elected. Zezinho had only 8,800 votes.

Federal deputy Emídio de Souza (PT), coordinator of Haddad’s campaign, was on his way to the city. “He made many complaints and we have already contacted Dr. Osvaldo Nico Gonçalves, general delegate of the Civil Police of SP, to ask for an investigation, Souza told TV Globo.
