Fábio Faria says he ‘deeply regrets’ radio interview

The Minister of Communications, Fábio Fariahe said, according to the column of the journalist Monica Bergamowho regretted the press conference to denounce that radio stations were allegedly harming the president and candidate for reelection Jair Bolsonaro (PL). According to the minister, his intention, when he convened the press last Monday (24th) alongside Fabio Wajngarten was to make an agreement with the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) to solve the problem.

According to him, the objective was for the TSE to grant Bolsonaro’s campaign the same number of insertions, in the final stretch of the elections, that supposedly had not been broadcast on the radio stations mentioned in the press conference;

“The fault was with the party, which realized the problem belatedly, and not with the court. As there was little time for the TSE to do a more in-depth investigation, I started a dialogue with the court around the matter.”he says.

The initiative went awry, he says, when Bolsonaristas began to use the fact to ask for the postponement of the elections, which they accused of “fraud”. According to journalist Monica Bergamo, TSE ministers were upset with Faria’s attitude, but he claims that he has already talked to everyone and that the episode has been clarified.
