Srinagar:  Mehbooba Mufti has targeted the BJP and the Modi government over the Hindu hymn in a school in Kashmir. Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti on Monday shared a video from South Kashmir Kulgam on her Twitter handle in which a group of high school students can be seen singing the Hindu hymn ‘Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram’.

Accused of promoting Hindutva agenda

Mehbooba Mufti accused the Jammu and Kashmir administration, the BJP and the Modi government of carrying forward the Hindutva agenda in the union territory. Mehbooba Mufti said, “People of Jammu and Kashmir respect all religions but forcing children to sing Hindu bhajans in schools in Kashmir is a direct attack on our religion, which cannot be tolerated.

Mehbooba said that Jamia Masjid Srinagar is closed since 2019. The government is sending religious scholars to jail on charges of old affairs and is now instructing school children here to sing Hindu hymns, exposing the real Hindutva agenda of the Indian government in Kashmir.

Video is viral on social media

This video shared by Mehbooba Mufti is viral on social media. The government high school board first shows up in the viral video. Then the students sitting in the classroom in school dress sing hymns with folded hands following the instructions of the teachers. Meanwhile, district administration officials said that they have seen the video on social media. As of now, no formal orders have been received for any investigation in this matter so far.

Commenting on the viral video, Mehbooba Mufti said, “BJP is trying to advance its agenda by using Gandhiji’s name in Kashmir, but it is the same BJP which worships Nathuram Godse, the first terrorist of this country. “

Terrorist organization also threatened about the video

On the other hand, the Kashmir Fight Blog, the mouthpiece of terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba, has also issued a threat against the singing of Hindu hymns in Kulgam school and said that they will strike against such activities. On the threat of Kashmiri attack going viral on social media, police sources said that they are verifying the veracity of the threatening posters.
