Ranchi: 3000 km of roads will be built in the villages of Jharkhand. Work on road schemes worth more than Rs 2200 crore will be started. A meeting was held on Monday with the officials of the Union Ministry of Rural Development regarding this. On this occasion, there was almost a consensus about the approval of the schemes, but some conditions have also been imposed by the central officials. A final consensus will be reached on this issue in a meeting to be chaired by Union Secretary NN Sinha within one to one and a half months. State Rural Development Secretary and other officers and engineers were present in the meeting.
Road schemes will be approved under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana. Its proposal was prepared several months ago and sent to the Government of India. Since then the matter was lying with the Government of India for approval. Even the initial meeting of the authorized committee was not being held there. During this several times the Government of India asked to rectify the proposal. From here it was improved four to five times. After this the Government of India accepted the proposal.
Work will start on the schemes by the end of the year:
The central officials said that till the work of 90 percent of the earlier approved schemes is not allotted after settlement of tender, then new schemes will not be approved. Approval from the Center was hanging on this issue for a long time. Now the Government of India has agreed to approve new schemes. A meeting was held for this. Soon a meeting will be held under the chairmanship of the Union Secretary. It is being estimated that by the end of the year, work on the schemes will also be started.
