The Ministry of Health received this Thursday (27) the first shipment of doses against Covid-19 for children aged 6 months to under 3 years.
With 1 million doses, the batch of immunizers, produced by Pfizer and authorized by the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa), landed at Viracopos International Airport, in Campinas (SP), and will be destined for children with comorbidities within the age group established.
According to the folder, the batch will undergo analysis by the National Institute for Quality Control in Health for evaluation and quality control over the next few days. The guidelines related to the application, target audience and distribution of vaccines by state should be published in a technical note from next Monday (31).
“At this time, as a precautionary measure, vaccination will be recommended for children between 6 months and under 3 years of age with comorbidities. With the end of the Public Health Emergency of National Importance, the possibility of increasing doses for children in this age group without comorbidities should be evaluated by the National Commission for the Incorporation of Technologies in the SUS (Conitec)”, highlighted the Ministry of Health.
