Gujarat Election 2022: All eyes are on the assembly elections in Gujarat. Be it BJP or Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) or Congress, all eyes are on this state. AAP’s convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has visited Gujarat many times and made many promises. In this sequence, Arvind Kejriwal promised that if his party comes to power in Gujarat, apart from giving a fixed salary to the village heads, funds will be provided directly to the panchayats.
The Chief Minister of Delhi, who arrived in the BJP-ruled state of Gujarat on a two-day campaign tour on Friday, was addressing a convention of sarpanches (village heads). During this he said the same things. Assembly elections are due in Gujarat later this year . Kejriwal said that Village Computer Entrepreneurs (VCEs) working on commission basis will also get a salary of Rs 20,000.
A Sarpanch is the leader of the village
AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal said that a sarpanch wins elections in his village and people like and respect him. He is the leader of his village. After winning the election, the sarpanch spends money from his own pocket as he does not have money for the work that people want him to do.
MLAs ask for “commission”
AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal said that when a sarpanch demands money from an MLA or a district magistrate, they ask for a “commission”. The Chief Minister of Delhi said that we will end this commission (system). We will fix the salary of the sarpanch. Every sarpanch will get Rs 10,000 per month. I know it’s a small amount. But we will start with Rs 10,000 and gradually increase it. Every sarpanch will get Rs 10,000 to meet his expenses.
10 lakh directly from the government to every panchayat
Arvind Kejriwal further said that every panchayat will get Rs 10 lakh directly from the government, so that no sarpanch has to beg for small works related to water supply, roads or sanitation. Kejriwal said that all these promises will be fulfilled before February 28 next year.
