US consumer sentiment drops to 56.8 in November, final reading shows

The consumer sentiment index in the United States prepared by the University of Michigan retreated from 59.9 in October to 56.8 in November, according to the final reading of the indicator. The Refiniti consensus predicted a bigger drop to 55.0.

In the period, the current situation index dropped from 65.6 to 58.8 and the expectations index dropped from 56.2 to 55.6.

Expectations for 12-month inflation in the US rose and fell from 5.0% to 4.9% in the period.

As for the 5-year horizon, expectations for price growth rose from 2.9% to 3.0%.

Estimate suggests GDP growth in the 3rd quarter
