INCC-M accelerates to 0.14% in November, from 0.04% in October, reveals FGV

The National Construction Cost Index (INCC-M) accelerated to 0.14% in November, compared to a high of 0.04% in October, informed this Friday the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV). With the result, the high accumulated in 12 months by the indicator decelerated from 10.06% to 9.44%.

The advance of the INCC-M was driven by the Labor component (0.31% to 0.53%), while Materials, Equipment and Services intensified the deflation (-0.21% to -0.23%).

In openings, the item Materials and Equipment fell 0.35%, after retreating 0.32% in October, with emphasis on the deepening of the deflation of materials for structure (-0.78% to -0.98%), while the Services segment increased from 0.34% to 0.35%, with emphasis on ready meals at the workplace (0.00% to 0.35%).


The main upward influences on the November INCC-M were specialized helper (0.27% to 0.58%), servant (0.50% to 0.54%) and PVC pipes and connections (-0. 27% to 1.31%), as well as bricklayer (0.42% to 0.55%) and carpenter (0.38% to 0.57%).

On the other hand, carbon steel rebars and wire items (-3.71% to -4.42%), iron and steel tubes and connections (-1.85% to -0. 89%) and ordinary Portland cement (-0.15% to -0.29%), along with wood for roofing (-0.24% to -0.58%) and electrical conductors (-0.38% to – 0.45%).


The INCC-M accelerated in four of the seven capitals surveyed by the FGV in October: Salvador (-0.13% to -0.01%), Brasília (-0.16% to 2.12%), Belo Horizonte (-0. .12% to -0.02%) and Recife (-0.24% to -0.08%). On the other hand, Rio de Janeiro (0.63% to -0.31%), Porto Alegre (0.41% to 0.31%) and São Paulo (-0.02% to -0.18%) recorded index slowdown.
