Will the government pay 13° to families this year?

The month of December will start next week, and at this time workers usually receive the thirteenth salary that helps families with the expenses of the festivities at the end of the year and with the expenses that come with the beginning of a new one, however, the Families that are assisted by social programs, such as Auxílio Brasil, do not usually receive the extra resource.

This happens because the income transfer program does not have any rule in its regulation that establishes the payment of a thirteenth payment for the beneficiaries, and because of that, at least this year, the millions of families assisted by the Auxílio Brasil will not have to receive a thirteenth payment.

However, despite the transfers for November not yet finished, the payment schedule for December has already been released by the Ministry of Citizenship, and as happens every year, next month’s payments should start a little earlier, on the 12th, until the 23rd, according to the final number of the Social Registration Number (NIS) of each beneficiary, check:

  • End of NIS 1 – December 12th;
  • NIS 2 Finals – December 13th;
  • NIS 3 Finals – December 14th;
  • NIS 4 Finals – December 15th;
  • NIS 5 Finals – December 16th;
  • NIS 6 Final – December 19 (released on Saturday, the 17th, due to it being on a Monday);
  • End of NIS 7 – December 20th;
  • NIS 8 Finals – December 21;
  • NIS 9 Finals – December 22nd;
  • End of NIS 0 – December 23rd.

Thirteenth of the Brazil Aid

Therefore, there will be no extra payment in December, even though President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) promised during this year’s presidential campaign to pay a thirteenth salary to the families of the Auxílio Brasil, however, the families will be able to receive the transfers of the last one earlier month of the year.

The government’s objective in anticipating payments for the month of December is to ensure that transfers are finalized before Christmas and the last week of the year, considered a festive period, when many places needed to pay bills or make essential purchases for families may be closed.

Thirteenth of the Aid Brazil was already Bolsonaro’s promise

The thirteenth salary for beneficiary families of the then Bolsa Família Program was also a campaign promise by current President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) while participating in the 2018 election race, where the presidential candidate guaranteed that he would institute the extra payment as a right of all beneficiaries. the years.

However, the closest Bolsonaro was able to come to fulfilling his promise was when, in 2019, the government managed to pass the Provisional Measure (MPV) 898/2019which authorized the payment of the extra salary at the end of the year, but only that year, being forgotten in the following years.

At the time, according to the Ministry of Citizenship, more than R$5 billion were paid to 13,170,607 families across Brazil between the 10th and 23rd of December, totaling an average amount of R$383.54 per beneficiary, adding up to benefit of the month and the thirteenth.

Who receives the Brazil Aid?
