Low demand makes Rio extend vaccination of children with comorbidities

The Municipal Secretary of Health of Rio de Janeiro (SMS-Rio) extends until Friday (25) the vaccination against Covid-19 for children from six months to 4 years old with comorbidities or disabilities. The low demand for health posts has led the secretariat to extend the deadlines. The Pfizer vaccine for children, intended for this public, is still available at specific health units, from 8 am to 5 pm.1669206320 971 ebc1669206320 427 ebc

According to the municipal secretary of health, Daniel Soranzthe initial number is much lower than expected. “We, here at the secretariat, make this appeal and ask that parents remember to vaccinate their children, that they take their children to be immunized. It is also important to remember that the Pfizer dose for children aged 5 to 11 without comorbidities is still available at health centers.”

For the child to be vaccinated, the guardian must present proof (exams, prescriptions, medical report, medical prescription and other documents) demonstrating that the child belongs to one of the priority comorbidity groups for vaccination.

The list of types of comorbidities and the addresses of the indicated units can be consulted on the city hall website.
