Justice makes PRF director defendant for impropriety

The general director of the Federal Highway Police (PRF), Silvinei Vasques, became a defendant for administrative impropriety. The request of Federal Public Ministry (MPF) of Rio de Janeiro was accepted by Judge José Arthur Diniz Borges, from the 8th federal court.

On November 15, the MPF filed a lawsuit, with a request for an injunction, against the director general of the PRF for the improper use of the position, with misuse of purpose, as well as symbols and image of the police institution with the aim of favoring one of the candidates in the presidential elections.

Initially, the MPF requests the immediate removal of the director from his duties for 90 days and, on the merits, the conviction for the intentional practice of administrative impropriety, for violating the principles of Public Administration.

In the decision, the judge recalled that Silvinei Vasques is on vacation until December 6th and that he will hear his manifestation before deciding on the request for removal from office.

“I determine the issuance of a writ of summons on the defendant to offer a defense, within thirty days. Afterwards, come back to me conclusive, including for the appreciation of the precautionary measure required”, said the magistrate in the demonstration.
