West Bengal Political Violence News: The Central Bureau of Investigation is investigating the incidents of violence (murder, attempt to murder and rape) after the assembly elections in West Bengal. In them there is also the case of the murder of a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worker Abhijit Sarkar. As part of the investigation of the same case, the CBI had summoned MLA and Trinamool Congress leader Paresh Pal for questioning for the second time. Under the same, on Tuesday morning, Trinamool leader Pal reached the CBI office at Saltlake’s CGO Complex.
Interrogation on the basis of allegations leveled by the relatives of the deceased BJP worker
According to sources, the Trinamool leader was asked several questions regarding the allegations leveled by the relatives of the deceased BJP worker. Videography was also done during the interrogation . The relatives of the deceased BJP worker had alleged that the Trinamool leader had made threatening remarks about Abhijeet at a meeting before the elections. This comment acted as a kind of provocation. The deceased’s brother Vishwajit Sarkar had already demanded that Trinamool leader Pal should also be questioned as part of the investigation into his brother’s murder.
Will cooperate when called by CBI: Paresh
Regarding the interrogation, Mr. Pal said that the death of Abhijit Sarkar is sad. However, he has nothing to do with the said incident. Whenever CBI calls him for investigation, he will cooperate fully. He has cooperated with CBI in the past and will continue to do so. It is noteworthy that on May 2 last year, shortly after the declaration of the results of the West Bengal Assembly elections, BJP worker Abhijit Sarkar was lynched in Kankurgachi area under Narkeldanga police station. The relatives of the deceased have blamed Trinamool leader Paresh Pal behind the incident. However, this is a matter of investigation.
